09.11.16 | Production Management for Animation (5 Wednesday Evenings)

Course Content:

The course will cover all aspects of a 2D animation pipeline from script to screen. Whether you are looking for tips on how to manage a small-scale short film, or are interested in pursuing a career in production management, this course is an excellent starting point. Participants will complete the course with an understanding of each step of a standard 2D animation production pipeline as well the knowledge and tools to adapt methods to their own projects and productions.

The course will cover:

  • An overview of a typical production pipeline.
  • Designing a production pipeline to suit any production.
  • How departments work with and compliment each other.
  • Scheduling.
  • Tracking every step.
  • Asset management.
  • Team building and people management.
  • Delivering your final product.
  • A portion of each class will include a Q&A with a different guest department head.

Participant Profile:

The course is open to anyone interested in animation production as a career or who may be managing their own small-scale projects.

Tutor Info:

Leon Elliott has over a decade of experience in media production. As well as a writer, director and designer, he is an experienced production manager covering both live action and 2D animation. He has produced short films, music promos and corporate videos. More recently Leon has managed the production of BBC’s “Nelly and Nora”, Disney’s “Wander Over Yonder” and is currently managing multiple Hasbro productions for Boulder Media.
