15.03.14 | 2D Animation for Games – Best Practices (Half Day)

Course Content:

Participants will learn about and experience the process of creating 2D animations for games. Best practices will be demonstrated from concept phase right through to final production of game ready 2D animations including:

● Interpreting Game Design Briefs
● Program restrictions on animation
● Project management constraints
● Getting Creative within the Limitations
● Designing Characters cleverly
● Loops, actions and interactions

 

Participant Profile:

Participants should be animators or artists who are interested in pursuing a career creating games and apps professionally.

 

Tutor Info:

Tutor 1 – Marc Diamond
Marc is a designer with expertise in Art/Creative Direction, original concepts, UI, Character design, Illustration, writing and Flash animation. With over 15 years’ experience in production of games, e-learning products & edutainment, his clients include the BBC, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Playfirst, Making Fun, Folens, and ThoughtBox. His games are used in Schools across the world. Marc is currently the Art Director in Sugra Games.

Tutor 2 – Andrew Deegan
Andrew is a game designer, producer and entrepreneur. During his career, he has worked on projects for companies such as Lego, Ubisoft, Disney, Sony Playstation, Hasbro, Thrustmaster, Jolt Online Games and Megazebra Social Games. Andrew is currently the game designer and producer of venture capital backed company, Sugra Games, working on a very exciting tablet puzzle game, to be released early 2014.
