20.02.18 | Directing Animation for TV Series, Short Films and Commercials (5 Tuesday Evenings)

Course Content:

This course will cover the following:

  • The Role of the Director
  • Briefing and giving notes to artists
  • Receiving and implementing notes from clients/broadcasters
  • Working with the production team
  • A practical guide (with examples) to working with scripts, storyboards, animatics, layout, animation, comp, music & FX and post production

Participant Profile:

This course is aimed at anyone within the creative industries wanting to step up to or know more about the role, responsibilities and challenges of being a director. The course is suitable for all levels of directing ambition – from making your first short film to helming a 52 episode animated series.

Tutor Info:

Aidan McAteer has worked in the animation industry for the last fifteen years in Dublin, London, Vancouver and Singapore. He has directed several award-winning short films including the RTE/IFB Frameworks short “Deadly” and served as series director on the 2D series “Wildernuts” for RTE, the CG series “Oddbods” for Disney and is currently working at Boulder Media, directing the comedy action series Danger Mouse.

5 Tuesday Evenings from 6.30pm-9pm – 20th February, 27th February, 6th March, 13th March and 20th March.
