27.09.17 | Introduction to Houdini (5 Wednesday Evenings)

Course Content:

This course will cover the following:

  • Introduction to Houdini UI, data structure and “context”

  • Procedural modeling, animation, and overall workflow

  • Houdini/Maya asset interchange and render pipeline

  • Introduction to particles, liquid, fluid and rigid-body dynamics effects

  • Optional topics (time permitting) such as pyro, cloth, hair and crowd

Participant Profile:

This course is aimed at beginners. Upon completion, participants should have a good understanding of basic Houdini and be able to study advanced topics on their own.  Knowledge of other 3D modeling, rendering and compositing software is useful but not required. Familiarity with vector math and the basic concept of Physics such as mass and velocity is a big plus.

Tutor Info:

Pisut Wisessing has been working as a Houdini effects artist in the animation industry for almost six years. His credits range from working on DreamWorks’ feature film “Penguins of Madagascar” to Disney Jr.’s TV series “Henry Hugglemonster.” He earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a master’s degree in Visual Effects.

5 Wednesday Evenings from 6.30pm-9.30pm – 27th September, 4th October, 11th October, 18th October and 25th October.

Members: 100 Euro, Non Members: 125 Euro
