Course Content:
This course will offer an introduction to Digital Matte Painting using Photoshop, Maya and Nuke, exploring the techniques of:
- The fundamentals of Digital Matte Painting
- Photo collage
- Composition
- Colour management
- Non-destructive workflow
- 2.5D Projection
Participant Profile:
This course is aimed at those who are looking to break into the creative industries, traditional illustrators and students of Fine Art, Illustration and Animation. It will provide a strong grounding in the fundamentals of digital matte painting, highlighting a non-destructive, industry standard work flow.
Tutor Info:
James Kenny has worked in the Game, Television and Film industries since 1999; including the Tomb Raider game series, the Terminator franchise and the recent Jungle Book live action re-imagining, working as a Concept Artist, 3D environment and character artist and Digital Matte Painter. He currently works in Dublin at Windmill Lane VFX.
Date & Times:
5 Monday Evenings from 6.30pm-9.30pm, 3rd April, 10th April, 24th April, 8th May and 15th May. Please note that there will be no class on Monday 17th April or Monday 1st May as they are bank holidays.
