Course Content:
This course will cover:
- How to do a good UV layout.
- An introduction to colour theory.
- Mari’s UI and how to set up a project.
- The different types of maps needed to make realistic skin.
- How to paint realistic creature skin textures.
- Testing the textures with a basic light setup, in Maya.
Participant Profile:
This course is aimed at Junior 3D artists who may have very basic texturing abilities or none at all. Basic PhotoShop and Maya skills would be helpful.
Tutor Info:
Fiona Russell has been working in the industry since 2009 starting as a 3D generalist in commercials at MPC london, where she worked on projects such as the UEFA intro. She then went on to work at Minimo VFX in Barcelona, which is a studio that just provides Assets. While there she worked as a Texture and Look Dev supervisor, working on projects such as Monsters Dark Continent and The Machine. She currently works in Dublin at Screen Scene VFX.
