15.02.14 | Introduction to Animation and Stop-Motion Techniques

Course Content:

The morning session will cover animation theory, the principles of animation (using examples of different animation techniques) and design and storyboarding for a short scene that participants will animate in the afternoon session using stop-motion animation. The final productions will be edited with sound added and uploaded to the Internet (Vimeo).

 

Participant Profile:

Participants should have some experience with drawing, and an interest in animation. Equipment and materials will be supplied.

Tutor Info:

Paper Panther Productions’ Eimhin McNamara and Pádraig Fagan are Annie Award nominated animators, whose film work has screened at over 40 international festivals, taking home numerous prizes. They have been hosting animation workshops for the past four years, as well as working on short films, commercials, and tv-series productions with Lovely Productions, Andmapsandplans, Zanita Films, the Element, Still Films, Kavaleer Productions and Barley Films. Their workshop films have also screened internationally, bringing home four junior film-making prizes.
