16.04.18 | Production Management for Animation (5 Monday Evenings)

Course Content:

This course will cover the set up and management of the production of a 2D animation, encompassing a full production pipeline. It will cover the skills, knowledge and tools necessary to be an effective production manager, which participants can then apply to their commercial studio work or their own productions. The weekly classes will provide an opportunity to meet and engage with industry professionals and gain a broad understanding of the challenges experienced in managing animation productions. The five weekly modules will run as follows:

01 – The Production Pipeline – overview and design

02 – Managing the Schedule and Coordinating Departments

03 – Tracking and Managing Production Assets

04 – Recruiting and Managing the Crew

05 – Tackling Production Challenges and Delivering

Participant Profile:

This course is suitable for people who want to work in general studio animation production management; for those who want a fuller understanding of how animation production management works in terms of their own role within a studio animation production or for those working on their own independent productions.

Tutor Info:

Andrew Moore has twenty years of experience in planning and management, working across the public and private sector. Within 2D animation Andrew has worked as a writer, rigger, scene prep artist, asset manager, production coordinator, production manager and associate producer, using both Toon Boon Harmony and the Adobe Suite. He has worked on both children’s and adult animation shows, in addition to advertising campaigns. Recently Andrew has worked on Monster’s I’m a Fish (RTE) and Salty Dog Picture’s Brewster the Rooster (RTE) and Hot Streets (Adult Swim). Previously Andrew has also worked on Disney’s Henry Hugglemonster and Wander Over Yonder; and BBC’s Danger Mouse.
