This course is for anyone interested in animation, who wants to design characters and prepare them primarily for animation but the skills you learn are also fundamental to illustration and comics. We will be working using pencil and paper – the use of digital devices will be for research only.
Tutor Info:
Steve Simpson, although primarily an award winning illustrator, started his career in the animation industry – covering every role from tea boy to directing. His animation CV includes Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and Ninja Turtles. As a comic artist he worked for DC Thomsons on The Beano and Disney’s Mickey Mouse. In his 20+ years as an illustrator/graphic designer he’s worked with brands such as Jameson, Adobe and Pixar. You can view his work at http://stevesimpson.com/
