IMPORTANT UPDATE 12/03/2020

We are very sorry to inform you that, unfortunately, the workshop with Thomas Fluharty “Next Level Drawing Workshop and the Joy of Drawing” on Saturday 21st of March has been cancelled.
As you are all aware, the increasing spread of COVID-19 means that there are now greater risks for people travelling from abroad to not be able to re-enter their country of origin at a later stage, as various countries’ approach to containing the virus regularly changes, in line with the WHO’s recommendations and their own Health Department’s guidelines.
In order to attend the event, Thomas would have to go through a number of states, countries and airports, which in the current climate now present too great a risk. Thomas was very much looking forward to this visit and is greatly saddened to have to make this decision: he will release a public statement on his own Social Media soon and we are working together to plan another visit in the future, once the threat is eliminated.
As regards the other workshops and events, please note that the festival is due to go ahead as planned.

Workshop 1 – Thomas Fluharty – Next Level Drawing Workshop and the Joy of Drawing

You are only as good as you draw.  In fact, there is NOTHING beyond drawing.  Since drawing is the top, everything else, artistically speaking, is subjected to it.  Regardless of how well you paint, you are only as good as you draw. In light of these truths, I have designed this class to unpack my 35-year approach to drawing using classical instruction, a hint of caricature and exaggeration fused with passion, and an ever increasing, intense love for drawing.

Teaching is a natural extension of who I am and what I do.  When I teach these workshops, it’s ultimately an opportunity for us to interact and revel in the wonders, the difficulties and the joys of drawing.

“Listening to you was like catching a flame…you were burning!”  – Ralf Ricker
