Irish VFX and Animation Summit

Screen Training Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and the Animation Skillnet are supporting the inaugural Irish VFX and Animation Summit, taking place in the Science Gallery on Saturday 30th November.  This will be open to students, graduates and professionals working across VFX, animation and games, and will include workshops, masterclasses and talks covering packages and topics such as Nuke, Houdini, Arnold, Python, pipelines and production, and wider industry issues.  The Summit will launch on Friday evening, 29th November, with a screening and opening address by William Sargent, founder of Framestore.

In addition, the local animation and VFX community will be part of the Summit, showcasing their recent work and talking to attendees in an informal setting about their studios, key technical and creative issues, careers for graduates, etc.  The summit is targeted both at those working in the industry as well as those seeking a career in the industry, and it hopes to draw attendees from the industry as well as students and graduates from animation, computer science, and games/entertainment technology backgrounds – anyone who has skills relevant to the VFX, Animation and Games sectors.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday 19th October.  Student tickets are €60 (or €50 for early bird tickets prior to 31st October), and professional tickets are €100 (Early bird: €80).  For more information on the summit go to www.vfxsummit.com.  More exciting speakers will be announced in the coming days.
